Personally in it's effect on me the 18th and 19th Amendment hold no sway on my life. The 18th had to do the abolishment of liquor in the United States, only to be repealed by the 21st Amendment just past a decade after its ratification. So obviously this amendment is of little importance to anyone because it no longer effects anyone. As for the 19th I am not a woman so having the same rights as a man obviously doesn't impact me directly since I am a man. While the 19th amendment may be one of the most important amendments to any women who values her rights in the class it holds not value to a man. So with this said neither of these amendments hold sway over me personally and will continue to not.

A pragmatic and solid argument. Relating the specifics of the two amendments to yourself instead of the broader scope of your classmates made for a more concise and direct post; good job.
However, the longer lasting implications of the 18th Amendment can not be ignored. Most historians collectively agree that the passage of the 18th Amendment directly led to the rise of multiple black market enterprises, specifically organized crime. In an interesting, ironic twist to your post; the socio-political category (women) that was the main driving force behind the 18th Amendment didn't have the legal or Constitutional ability to make it happen until after Prohibition went into effect. Considering the 19th Amendment was ratified roughly a year after the 18th, it seems clear that this was an obvious paradigm shift in the political climate of the United States.

I agree with you on the 18th amendment because this personally does not effect anyone now. I disagree with you on the 19th amendment because i think it is important for all people to be created equal and women are not lesser than anyone on this earth. For women to have the right to vote is a major amendment because we will have a huge say so in who will lead our country.
